About Mixed Traction
A passion for all things traction
Mixed Traction are a family, and not just figuratively speaking!

We're a Father and Son duo, Paul and Matt, that both have a passion for trains and between us we created Mixed Traction as a place to share that enthusiasm with family, friends and the world.

Mixed Traction was conceived at some point in 2025 after several conversations about "making something happen" and after a busy winter, Mixed Traction steamed into life at the start of 2026.
The future of Mixed Traction
Despite humble beginnings, we hope that Mixed Traction will put a spotlight on one of the greatest railway networks in the world.
We'll be covering everything from modern traction on the UK's mainline, and spending a lot of time at various heritage railways showcasing some of the awesome locations and locomotives that have been preserved. We also plan to show some "archival content", courtesy of Paul, who filmed and photographed a lot of railway content in the 1980s and 1990s!
